SPORTS & RECREATION COMPLEX AT THE ROBERT M. BEREN ACADEMY
Construction is set to begin in early January with a grand opening scheduled for Spring 2013. The
dog friendly park will consist of two areas for large dogs and small dogs. Both areas will have water
features, benches, sidewalks, and dog waste stations. Access will be from the Information Center parking
lot as well as a connecting sidewalk from Northridge Forest. The exact location will be a one-acre of land
at the northeast corner of Imperial Oaks Boulevard and Northridge Forest Drive.
To respect the privacy and limit disturbance to the residents of The Enclave, approximately 70 feet
of wooded area will be preserved between the dog park and the residents. To further maintain a quiet and
private environment for The Enclave residents, the park will not have any lights, thereby limiting the hours
from dawn to dusk. Access to the park will be via a push-button combination lock that only residents will
have access to.
Board Director and driving force behind the park, Paul Alli, is excited about Imperial Oaks having
its own dog-friendly park. “We’ve had so many disappointed residents come to the office after they learn
they don’t have access to the dog park at The Falls. It’s been one of the most frequent requests we’ve
had” Plans for a park were created in 2010 but the Board delayed construction because of costs. However,
with strict planning and financial management, the Board feels that now is the time to add a new amenity
to Imperial Oaks. Alli went on to say, “Our community is over 25 years old and continues to be a desired
place to live. And with this new feature, we should see homeowners sticking around and others wanting
to move here even more!”
The park was designed by landscape architect, Robert Forsythe, who has been an integral part of
designs for Imperial Oaks and The Falls. After submitting bid requests, the Board chose Division III to
oversee construction. The cost for full construction is just under $65,000.
